Over the last couple of years we have received several concerned calls that loose dogs have been able to access the playground on The Willow Centre field.

We have now received a grant from our County Councillor David Bills to improve the situation, and next week will be planting hedging all around this playground. This will have a dual purpose:

  • Once grown, providing a hedging area around the playground to stop loose dogs coming in
  • Creating a new habitat to provide shelter and food for insects

The hedging will be made of honeysuckle hedging and winter honeysuckle and so should provide shelter and nectar all year round.

There will still be access to the playground whilst the work is being carried out.
