We are receiving a few calls about the length of grass on verges around the parish.
The Parish Council is not responsible for all areas. For example, Roundhouse Way and the roundabouts on it are the responsibility of Norfolk County Council, as is the Newmarket Road slip road and the approach to Thickthorn. Verges on Roundhouse Park are still the responsibility of the developer – these will eventually be adopted by Norfolk County Council.
In regard to the verges that we do maintain on behalf of the County Council, a combination of a very wet spring, mixed with staff being temporarily called to work on other projects has resulted in some of them looking quite long in the short term. We are a couple of weeks behind our normal schedule but now in the process of catching up.
